All six STISD campuses and the district community as a whole were recognized on Tuesday, Aug. 27, for earning As in this year's State Accountability System. Certificates from the district were awarded to each of the campus principals for their respective campus communities and to Jeff Hembree, STISD deputy superintendent, for the district community as a whole. Plaques received by the district from Region One Education Service Center were also presented publicly during the meeting.

This is the second year of this version of the state accountability system, through which districts are assigned A through F grades, much like a report card. It is the first year in which campuses were assigned these grades.

STISD received an A accountability rating in 2019 - representing exemplary performance - with an overall numeric score of 97. This is the same letter rating received by the district in 2018. The district also received the Post-Secondary Readiness Distinction, which is the only distinction available at the district level. STISD is one of only five districts in the state and three in the region to have earned this distinction for six consecutive years, which is every year it has been a part of the state accountability system.

Individual grades and scores for the campuses are as follows:

South Texas ISD Health Professions: A - 94

South Texas ISD Medical Professions: A - 93

South Texas ISD Preparatory Academy: A - 97

South Texas ISD Rising Scholars Academy: A - 97

South Texas ISD Science Academy: A - 94

South Texas ISD World Scholars: A - 94

Rising Scholars Academy, Health Professions and Science Academy received all distinctions for which they were eligible. Preparatory Academy, World Scholars and Medical Professions received all distinctions for which they were eligible, with the exception of one.
