Good afternoon.

As you know, inclement weather and flooding are continuing Valleywide.

In an abundance of caution, we will be releasing students and staff members early this afternoon, Thursday, June 21.

Buses will be departing their respective campuses around 1:30 p.m. Unfortunately, due to flooding in the Upper Valley, we are having to change some of our usual pick-up and drop-off locations. Please see below for the affected locations and the alternate locations:

-          McAllen: Desperado Harley Davidson and Texas Tops – Will now be picked up at Calvary Baptist Church, located at 1600 Harvey in McAllen.

-          Mission: Mission High School and Mission Veteran’s High School – will now be picked up at HEB on Conway and Mile 3 Rd.

If you have any questions regarding transportation, please contact the following individuals:

BETA/STPA: Rudy Hernandez at 564-3627

Med High/Sci Tech: Elva Villarreal at 494-4962

RSA: Eddie Guerra at 532-1480

Medical Academy: Rick Ansiso at 494-4986

You are also more than welcome to pick up your child on campus, if you would prefer. There will be staff members on campus until all students safely depart on their school buses or are picked up by a parent/guardian.

We will exercise great caution in transporting your children home this afternoon.

All classes and activities will be canceled for tomorrow, Friday, June 22, and all offices will be closed.

Please stay safe, STISD family.

Best,
